Stay Hot By Tosin Adegoke

Someone asked me a beautiful question after “Face to Face with God” a 3 day Marathon Fasting and Prayer. Here is the question: What can I do to sustain my fire after face to face encounter with God? And I gave a straight answer to that question: To Stay Hot You Must Keep Burning. 

My answer to the questioner sounds too weighty to be unraveled that he immediately asked for clarity on how one could in reality maintain and sustain perpetual burning. 

My Response 

Many became lost because they are unable to stay hot. You don’t do anything to become cold but to be spiritually hot and remain hot you must give your all. Yesterday’s victory does not automatically inform today’s victory. To enjoy perpetual victory one must be ready to embrace perpetual alignment and connectivity to God.

The degree of one’s hotness and coldness determines how far such would go in the race of life. Most people hate defeat while majority love victory. Only few dare to pay the price for what they want. Most worrisome among others is the fact that those who care to pay the price don’t stay aligned to enjoy perpetual victory. 

Staying red hot is necessary for our spiritual conquest. Nothing rattles the values of any believer than complacency and inconsistency. No devil is afraid of a hot believer who will be on fire today and be as cold as ice tomorrow. 

Those who pose threat to the devil are men who remain hot perpetually. Fire beget fire, don’t wait until your fire goes out before you start running up and down. Please add more woods to ensure a perpetual burning. Being hot today and cold tomorrow is like walking in the valley of the shadows of death. Fan what you have to flame. 

Read patiently

The word of God must be handled seriously and dutifully. This must be done always without being pushed or forced to do so. Be determined to sit down with the word constantly to maintain incessant burning. No one burns and get cold at the same time. The word of God brings your heart in alignment with the will of God.

Ensure you engage the word of God and make it your companion in season and out of season. Read, study and meditate on the word of life, there lies your strenght and prosperity. Check… Joshua 1:8, Psalm 1:2-3, John 6:63, Duet.32:46-47, James 1:18, Acts 20:32, 2Tim 3:15-17, Psalm 119:105.

 Engaging effectual fervent prayer keeps your spirit aflame, Pray more in the Holy Ghost to find yourself always in the core of the flame. Show me a man who is always on fire, such would obviously be a man of prayer. 

Locating and staying at the center of the will of God for one’s life is very easy for men who pray without ceasing. Be a prayer addict to gain divine validation.  Check… Luke 18:1, 1Thes 5:17, Luke 21:36, Ephesians 6:18, Jude 20, James 5:16.

To enjoy perpetual burning we must keep company with those that are burning. Don’t burn alone to avoid dying alone. No wood can burn successfully alone without connecting together with other woods. Connect with men of like passion to fan your passion to flame beyond what the devil can bear. 

There is a level of unction that rubs on us when we come to the gathering of sons of God. Don’t despise this experience, such will give you special strenght when you less expected it. Be ready to keep company with men of like passion. Check… Heb 10:25, Psalms 133:1-3, Eccl 4:9-12, Acts 2:42.

 By the virtue of God’s gene that runs through our veins we also have the ability to procreate and set the people around us on fire for God. Don’t keep your flame to yourself, endeavour to attract and connect others to the source of your flame in order to encourage wide spread of the fire. 

Don’t just sit down in your environment and allow unrighteousness to prevail therein. Let the fire of righteousness be ignited in the lives of the people in your vicinity. Don’t sleep don’t rest until godliness prevails. Mark 16:15, Acts 1:8, John 15:16, Prov.14:25, James 5:20.

Any fire that will cut you off from where God want you to be is a strange fire. I have a local church and am contributing my quota to the advancement of the church as the Lord enables me. Don’t get to your church and sit down at the back marking and noticing your Pastor’s mistake. You are in that church for a purpose.

You have been ignited to make that place a better place than you met it, not to go condemn the work of your Pastor. Make your humble contribution to ensure the growth and development of that parish. We exist to build the church not to break the church apart. Check… 1Cor. 1:10, Phil 2:2, 1Cor. 14:26, Acts 15:32, 1Tim. 4:13.

There are distractions every where in the world today, capable of extinguishing one’s flame. Avoid being distracted instead be committed to what your contribution is in the body of Christ. You are a major contributor to the advancement of this kingdom don’t turn yourself to a spectator.

Please don’t make yourself a watch dog whose portion and assignment is to point out errors in others. If you give heed to the strange wind blowing all around in the society today you might end up a commentator without a meaningful impact. Check… 2Timothy 4:5, Phil 3:12-14, Romans 12:11.

Don’t say I am satisfied with this encounter, no need for spiritual work again. To stay unique and relevant in God’s agenda, we must doggedly and persistently pursue God. Nothing cripples believer’s strength than complacency. Let hunger for more of God rise within you so that you can go yonder. 

There are celestial ground that are yet to be cultivated. Many realms are waiting to be accessed and touched by men like you and I. Be open enough to the Holy Ghost to enjoy your walk with him. Staying hot any time and every where must be your lifestyle. 

Note that Every encounter in the kingdom is a call for more encounters.  As hunger beget hunger so every genuine encounter provokes more. You must seek more encounters to sustain your encounter.
